It can be easy for the newcomer to Forex to be tempted by the promise of easy profits by companies selling Forex alerts. There are some companies that can indeed live up to the promises you see on their adverts, but many fail to produce the results that they promise. So how can you prevent yourself from being taken for a ride? Here are some ideas and tips on how to get the best Forex signals.

The market for Forex alerts is huge. This is because while we are all aware of the massive income potential that is possible via the foreign exchange market, few of us have the time to be slaving over a screen watching the market. Things like work commitments, family and actually having a life all seem to just get in the way. And of course some people don’t really want to take the time to learn how to generate their own signals.

Forex signals companies have sprung up to fill this need. They make it easy by offering a service whereby you get signal sent to your PC or by email. Many of the services will even alert you by mobile phone. Ideal if you can trade while at work or you’re out and about. Seems like a good deal, right? Well the first thing you have to factor in is the cost. Many of these services charge between $50 and $500 a month, so it’s not cheap. The second thing is that while there are some good service providers out there, others have just jumped on the bandwagon.

You can protect yourself by just dealing with companies that offer a free trial of their service. Try it for a month, say, on a demo account. Don’t use your own money at this stage. What you are looking for is how the signals perform. Are the signals generally profitable? Whilst you can’t expect 100% accuracy, what is the success rate over the longer term? While you are trying out their service, you should also ask to see details of the historical results and look to see how successful their Forex alerts have been. Only after doing this ‘due diligence’ should you consider signing up to their service.
